After one particular such screw up I looked him in the eye and said, "I know it may appear like it but I DO NOT lay awake at night thinking of ways to fuck myself up at work. I really just wish you would stop hovering around while I'm trying to meet deadlines". He almost cracked a smile and he stopped hovering.
