Then around 4-7000 years ago we started building them their own houses.
@glennlab I have come across numerous cases were animals live in the house with their "Pets"
Stories of farmers having a bull living in thier house, to all sorts of animals happily living in human habitations. The south sea islands and other places it is still a common practise. Especially pigs as they clean up the scraps, and being in the house, they are not the neighbours Sunday roast. Old Europe has animals in the lower floor of the house and the people live above them.
@Kurtn Anecdotes do not make a rule. Even in your European example, they are separate living spaces.. The very vast majority of all farm animals have their own structures or live outside.
