I’ve had lots of cars and never got an automatic until I had a wife that practically gave me a seizure trying to teach her to drive stick.

Yeah, some people never seem to get the whole standard thing. I don't own anything but standard vehicles, it keeps stupid people from driving my cars. Your wife sounds like my daughter when I was trying to teach her how to drive. I am surprised the transmission did not abandon ship.
@zorialoki ex-wife... important to make that distinction as teaching her to drive way back in the 8O’s may have been the beginning of the end.
Not as used to them on the column, tho can if I have to. Still would rather an automatic. Standards are just too much unneeded work. If I want the excercise I'll go to a gym!

Sorry, in my opinion automatics suck, I only drive standard
@zorialoki That's cool. I just think standard, except for an actual 'work' vehicle, is needlessly, well, not complicated, but much more crap than it's worth.

@zorialoki For me an automatic does. Less work, less strain on arthritic joints, more 'two hands on the wheel', less chance of spilling my coffee, etc., etc., etc., Just think in most cases it's archaic as hell.
@phxbillcee Fuck automatics. I hate driving them, and won't even consider buying one
