"Nursing can be a dirty business, as I discovered helping my grumpy patient change his colostomy bag. You can imagine the smell. Still, I soldiered on, telling myself to think about the patient's feelings & not let my queasiness show. That all changed when he turned to me, scrunched his nose, and said, "God, you've got bad breath!"

And he must have had a very sensitive nose to be able to smell your breath while in the midst of his colostomy perfume.

Man , there are no words to comfort anyone who knows he is going to OR for a colon resection and a colostomy . At least on now days they came up w some better products . I normally try to act like " listen , could had be worse , at least alive ?" But most patients won't cheer up .
The happiest days are those when someone comes in for a colostomy take down ( back to normal )?
The things we take for granted guys , but all can go poof ! In a blink of an eye !
Happy Sunday to those who have a Sunday , 2 more hrs here , only 29 pts in the waiting room , " thank u Jesus " ??????
