- So old that "long ago" is a long period of time is sometimes called a 'coon's age. For example "It's been a coon's age since anyone on line darkened my door step."

I’m surprised that Abe Lincoln didn’t use that in the opening line of the Gettysburg Address - “Three fourths of a coons age ago, our fathers” ...
Maybe it just doesn’t have the same ring to it?
@Haemish1 Average raccoon lives for three years. A score of years, means 20 years.

I knew the number of years in a score, but wasn’t aware of a definitive number for a Coon’s age
