There are prayers in school as an after hours activity. At my old high school, a group tried to have a satanic prayer group but failed to raise the required numbers of interested students. There is "pray around flag" before school but it's not held inside the school.
Considering that there are more churches than schools in this country, I consider the whole issue silly.

Totally against prayer in schools. Pray in church, or in your closet, or at your table in your own home, but do not subject me or my children to your whining and begging from a superstition. Why should there be prayer in schools?

Anytime anyone starts preaching that religion should be taught in schools, I'll guarantee you that the people saying that are Christian. I'd also be willing to bet but those same questions would not be willing to include teaching other religions in school as well. As far as many Christians are concerned Christianity is THE only religion!

They can be. But there's a lot of different religions that the Christians probably would not want to be taught in schools.
@MojoDave why does probably always come up in these conversations? Why can't a general prayer be come up with that covers all religions?
@lookinhard Why pray? They do that in church. Why teach religion in schools? Don't they know how to do that in their churches? Why not try actual education in the schools? Is it just me or has the so-called education system in this country become the first level of a theocratic government?

@lookinhard Why? Do it at home, do it while you pee, do it while you drive. I'm paying my taxes for education, not religious indoctrination.
@SiouxcitySue nothing was said about teaching anything religious .Of course they know how to pray.If two minutes a day are given up,how much learning are they going to miss out on?In a country where education is shabby at best,how much would be lost allowing kids to allow these kids their religious freedom? OH WAIT.....maybe we really don't give a fuck about freedom of religion because we are so cool that WE know everything about religion.I call bullshit to the whole fucking us vs,them thing..Like I said,let them have their 2 minutes a day
@lookinhard So I see prayer as invasive to my privacy and a part of religious indoctrination. You obviously see it as something else. Freedom of religion is a basic value in this country - Freedom from religion is not. I think I should be free from religion when I am in a captive environment, i.e. classroom.

How about paying attention to actual education.Like I said,the subject of TEACHING RELIGION IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS WAS NOT BROUGHT UP.This is becoming like people saying.." oh,you don't like the president,you must be a Shillary supporter"...again I scream out "FUCKING BULLSHIT" .Never said a word about liking her What the fuck kin d of open minded people are we becoming? @lookinhard I happen to be apatheist so I don't care about religion except like political bullshit I don't want it forced on me. The meme is about prayer in school. I simply said I do not approve of prayer in school as I believe it is part of religious indoctrination. Not what I'm paying my taxes for.
@SiouxcitySue so you feel like your kids were shortchanged? Are you really so weak that you can't close your eyes and ears for 2 minutes and think about how good you have it? Are you so afraid of religion that you have to make sure that everyone can see how strongly you feel about all this.Find the damn strength to be able to relax and let others have a 2 minute respite from the pressure people like yourself put on them.
