@altschmerz Ok, 'recolonize,' I can buy that! I thought iterative evolution meant that the bird evolved completely more than once! The article simply meant that it lost its ability to fly more than once. Okay I get it! Thanks!
Well then I suspect we'll be seeing Do-do's any time now! The dinosaurs have had 65 million years and they haven't done it yet, and they're closely related to modern birds!
