@bobwjr So you haven't been to Normandy either? I've never gone and don't plan to go. On the other hand I've been to beaches that have cliffs. Why I've even had several trips to Black's Beach, just outside of San Diego, California.
It's pretty much a given the military always practices amphibious landing on different shores. It wouldn't be news if it is something that happens all the time.
