Why Is It Still So Hard For Young People of Color to Get Therapy? [vice.com]
I have been getting cognitive behavioral therapy for the last 8 years. (Not the same therapist the entire time, though.) I cannot stress enough the amount of healing it has done for me. I strongly encourage everyone to see a therapist the same way you see a dentist. And let's figure out how to lift this stigma of mental & emotional disorders being a "white people problem".

Here saying that you are going to a therapist to get help is not common either, all they say here is to pray whatever is bothering you. I come where the majority is also Catholic and all your problems will be resolved with prayer, so yes, no one understands.
