Selective gun excision. My next thought is developing the technology to, through lasers or magnetic resonance or whatever, identify the location of guns and magnetically or otherwise disable them. This technology would be used to safety disable firearms from a distance. It would be most beneficial to the military and/ or police, as it would render firearms currently in circulation useless. Nerds: get to work on it. Iām only an idea person, not a scientist.
You need to create the antidote too... because some criminal/terrorist will lay hands on that panacea you dreaming about. I "stick to my guns". Remove all guns from civilian population. Only law enforcement should had them. You want to hunt? Do like Tarzan... use a knife. STAND YOUR GROUND WITH YOUR FISTS LIKE ANY BOXER IN THE RING!
There'd be a delay until a significant proportion of existing firearms were obsolete, or more likely deteriorated/confiscated over time, but I think thats a great idea. As long as theres a way to make a reverse modification impossible.
Though I've just re-read the original post. I doubt there would be a practical method of disabling existing firearms remotely
Itās a hammer hitting the back of a bullet, completely mechanical, new guns can and are being developed with advanced hi tech safety features but you canāt remotely disable a standard mechanical gun.
Interesting idea. I do have to say that it would be great to disarm guns in use by terrorists - and I'm including the white guys who are shooting up schools and concerts. But what happens if the bad guys get the technology to wipe out the guns of our police or military. My guess is once it's out there whoever has the deepest pockets will get the technology.
Any easier way to Rob a Bank?
