I posted this article in Main but also wanted to ask this group if any of you have seen the article concerning 4 students arrested for protesting outside of Paul Ryan's office for gun legislation. How can we live with ourselves if this is happening to our children and grandchildren.
This is the link:

Remember the old days (maybe you're not old enough). That was the aim of protesting, to get arrested. Without a rap sheet one was nothing. It seems to have it's desired effect.; to make the news and gcause a lot of outrage, for their cause.
Sad state of affairs... the new normal.
I worry we could be moving to another Kent State nightmare
@AmelieMatisse Oh that could happen everytime the national guard get called in and the protest is anti-war. I protested the vietnam war draft and I was introduced to my first and second tear gas dosage. By the time I served and was introduced to the tear gas compartment, I was a qualified tear gas veteran with about 5 encounters. Life in the Colony!
@AmelieMatisse Maybe, this will be another Viet Nam sized protest. People were hurt, jailed and killed but it did get us out.
@JackPedigo I don't want to see anyone hurt unless it is congress and white house who suffer. Enough is enough
@AmelieMatisse I tend to agree but I am also a realist. For some of us, some causes are worth dying for. I was in the army but going to fight in Nam was not worth dying for and I took great pains to stay away from that war, which I did. Too many idiots are too willing to go to a war at the drop of a hat. A lot of this is due to believing that they will be rewarded in heaven if they fight for their country and god. The way things are going if some are not willing to suffer more will in the end.
@JackPedigo believing they will be rewarded in heaven or actually being able to shoot someone their country told them to hate.
