Here is one thing our community is doing to foster a sense of resiliency.
I have 10 solar panels and everywhere I look there are more coming on-line. When one lives on an island one needs to be a bit more self-sufficient than otherwise.

Solar power is finally becoming a big deal where I live, there are multiple acres of solar panels in our valley.
