Here Weyerhauser, the largest timber company in the world, uses seedlings which have been grown on land that has been inoculated with methyl bromide. This is an extremely toxic gas [toxipedia.org]. I volunteered for the Nature Conservancy for a year in an area where I actually saw this happening. Of course, Latino labor was used.
