Is recycling worth the cost? What have some critics said and what was recently studied on a larger scale; we have a long way to go, especially with eliminating plastic and the cost of a carbon footprint has an important impact in shipping.
One concept is to have more cottage industries especially with glass in mind... And again, to push for the elimination of plastic and/or find more ways to use plastic and glass as a building aggregate, YES! The stuff which is here. (BTW, HEMP is a great building material/aggregate).
I think making the hemp industry explode by buying hemp products only would work. You can do almost anything with hemp.
In tandem we should ban plastics letting them phase it out within ten years at most.
Walmart should have to start a charity to clean up the worlds oceans of their bags.
Of course, companies could switch to using hemp and/or other plant material for plastic. Other countries are doing so.
@LetzGetReal There are several counties east of St.Louis, Missouri that in the late 1800’s were called the Hemp Capitol of the World, mostly for rope.
