The linked article states FBOTs probably begin, the astronomers said, the same way as certain supernovae and gamma-ray bursts -- when a star much more massive than the Sun explodes at the end of its "normal" atomic fusion-powered life.
Astronomer Arthur Eddington pulled fusion-powered stars from his imagination. There was no evidence for their existence then and there is no evidence for their existence now.

Science, the only place where things within a class can be named by both random strings of letters/numbers and farm animals, but I digress...
