This is what Theresa May should have done two years ago, instead of meekly surrendering the UK to the EU.
Now it is much harder to show the EU that Britain means what it says. French and Spanish fishermen, who 40 years ago caused the collapse of Britain's fishing industry, and who now insist on retaining fishing rights, need to understand that partial access is better than no access at all!

"To The WIRE" diplomacy is never good. EU is far more visionary than GB

There is much more at stake to a no-deal Brexit than fishing rights. I do not agree with your premise that Mrs May meekly surrendered to the EU two years ago. The deal that she got was a much better one than the no deal that we are now being driven towards by the ideologues of Brexit. It was Boris Johnston and his puppet master Dominic Cummings‘ aim all along to leave without a trade deal, and it will be very clear to people in the UK very soon in the new year what exactly that will mean when we will be trading on WTO terms with the EU and other countries. The cost attached to the additional paperwork alone to import and export goods between the EU and the UK will make certain goods too expensive to import, especially foodstuffs, and I saw a documentary last week on BBC which predicted that we will have a lot less choice on our supermarket shelves. It’s even worse for Northern Ireland than the other parts of the UK with extra paperwork in the movement of goods between the UK mainland and us. The business community is already on its knees due to Covid without this falling off a cliff edge in January due to no deal with the EU. I think fish will be the least of our worries here.

It’s typical of Tory Britain to blame everyone else but them for their failure to negotiate an amicable settlement. We are the ones walking away, we are in the minority and we were never going to get the outcome we wanted, it was an unrealistic expectation which the Brexiteers sold the electorate. We were never going to be able to trade with our biggest trading partners the EU on anything near the same beneficial terms as when we belonged to the same organisation. To believe anything else was either self deception or just plain lies.

Surely by now someone must have twigged that Brexit is sedition?

@FrayedBear Surely it was until the brexiteers became the government. We have therefore to do 'Sedition' to get it back to as it was in the seventies ? What can we do with that as understanding . NB I do not understand the workings of government let alone how to fix it.

@Mcflewster Guy Fawkes may have had the only answer?

@FrayedBear yes, It is coming up to bonfire night.
