Yes, I agree. As a humanbeing I can’t condone any form of hatred of my fellow man/woman. Hate the religion not the believer...they are victims of brainwashing, Moslems, Christians and Jews alike.

Where's the Islamophobia? I see people attacking the ideology rather than the individuals, with one possible exception where someone said Muslims are brain dead, but even there, is that really Islamophobic when it's motivated by an understanding of the viciousness of the ideology that Muslims have signed up to? It isn't a hateful attack on Muslims, but an attempt to account for why they've signed up to something which in many places is utterly disgusting. We don't talk about Naziphobia when people are criticised for signing up to that ideology, so how is that any different? Are you automatically beyond criticism just because you tie a fairy to a vile ideology? What happens if the Nazis bolt a god onto theirs? Are we no longer allowed to criticise Nazis and to be accused of hate for labelling hate as hate? Islam crosses a line which places it firmly into the uncivilised category - the Qur'an brands Yazidis as devil-worshippers and contains an open-ended command to kill them, and repeated genocides have been carried out against them as a direct result. Is it Islamophobic to take a moral stand against such evil? No. The world needs to stop tolerating hate and calling people haters for condemning hate. We need to be completely even-handed with this though and call out all the hate in all religions/ideologies that contain it. The hate needs to be banned and removed from all holy texts and manifestos, and anyone who continues to possess and propagate it should be put in prison till until they disown it. Calling such hate sacred is not an excuse for retaining it - people need to stand up to their vile "gods" and do what's morally right, purging those texts of everything hateful in order to turn their religions into benign things which might deserve to be respected.

All right minded people like us can see it as you have described, but to the brainwashed millions who adhere to this religion, it is absolute truth. The Koran and the Old Testament have much in common,

@Marionville This is strange for me to do, but I think comparison of the Old Testament with the Koran is unfair. The Koran is a disgrace to paper, even toilet paper has more dignity! The Old Testament has its off moments, and these are many, but it also has moments of exquisite beauty. There is no comparison. But the Koran (joke as it is -- especially when idealist Platonic claims are being made concerning it) is not the problem, you've got to take the incoherent hadiths as an inspired commentary as well. Brain washing is no excuse, to be a Muslim you have to be brain dead!

@entranger Not exactly. Islam is guilty of cultural theft. The stories have been plagiarized, twisted and adapted to a different end. Any similarities are merely superficial, values and attitudes are diametrically opposed.

@entranger Not in the least. I am looking at the situation as to the destructive impact certain faith practices have upon society in general. All of them do damage, but some are more dangerous than others. Islam is directly opposed to Western Enlightenment values, and poses a direct threat to the liberal ideals of an open society. It is the most toxic of all faiths. Judaism isn't much better, and Christianity is a pipe dream.

@rcandlish There are no such things in my eyes as good religions. They all pedal lies and myths, and just because Christianity seems slightly better than the others doesn’t mean they are benign....far from it. Brainwashing children is a crime in my eyes, and Christian parents do this just the same as Muslim ones. Children should be allowed to decide whether to have a religion or none by free choice when they grow into adults.

I agree though that Christian Church is a criminal organisation, and likewise deserves nothing but derision.

@rcandlish I think they all are in the same business of indoctrination, I would abolish them all and that is WITHOUT exception. I never at any time indicated that I didn’t think that Islam was worse than the rest so I won’t need to wake up to anything, who exactly do you think you are talking to ?
