I thought I’d be a bit selfish this morning and post my own favourite band a-ha here again. These three Norwegian guys...Magne (Mags), Morten and Pal made quite a stir when they first hit our stream of consciousness in 1985 with their best selling first album Hunting High And Low...with its string of hit songs, best known of which of course is Take On Me...which 35 years later the song and its video has taken on a somewhat iconic status due to its enduring quality and ageless appeal, racking up 1Billion,185Million and counting ....views on YouTube. It collects another 600 thousand views every day, and will soon catch up with and overtake Guns & Roses’ November Rain, and then only Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody at 1.2 Billion will, of songs from last century, have more views.

I’m not posting THAT song though...because it’s not a-ha’s best song by a long way...it’s not even the best song on the Hunting High And Low album...that is a close run thing between The Sun Always Shines On TV and Living A Boy’s Adventure Tale...or even Here I Stand And Face The Rain, or the title track itself...so many great songs to choose from, no wonder that album sold over 8 million copies and launched a-ha’s career with a bang! No, instead I’ve chosen a track from their follow-up album Scoundrel Days...equally good in my opinion, called. - I’ve Been Losing You. This is an extended electronic dance version and video made by a South American fan, and it includes live recordings and footage of them and their families on tour there (where they have a very large following), and in other places around the world including Beirut.
Btw....Morten doesn’t really start singing properly until 6.25....! It’s worth the wait!!
