As is my habit on New Year’s morning I am sitting down to enjoy The New Year’s Day Concert from Vienna on TV...but this year The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra is performing the traditional Viennese fare in an empty concert hall, however they are showing us some views of Vienna and the Austrian countryside which is bringing back happy memories of my cruise on the Danube in 2019. Here they are performing Tales From The Vienna Woods by Johann Strauss II.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.I confess that I was hoping to see a lot more woodland than villages and churches. One of those looked like a mosque. I was hoping they'd show Mayerling. And what a surprise seeing that huge black office tower in presumably Vienna.

Vienna does have its share of office blocks like any other 21st century capital city...although most of the buildings are from the time of the Habsburgs..
@Marionville Albeit the last time I was there was January 1974, I had been at least twice before that.
Wonderful video of the countryside. One of my favorite classical tunes. Happy New Year, Marje...again
