I couldn’t let today pass without posting something by Robert Burns here, because 25th January is Burns Day, when we Scots wherever we are in the world, raise a toast to our National Bard. I’ve chosen Ae Fond Kiss sung here beautifully...and authentically accented, by Robyn Stapleton with accompaniment from fiddler Jenna Reid and pianist Ryan MacKenzie. Let’s toast the bard...slainte mhaith!

Or to being in the dairyman's cottage in Rainton in '91 in Galloway, when farmer Finlay came and offerered us a brace of grouse. My then wife being vegetarian turned them down so Finlay said we were welcome to go out in the field and get some nips.
And to think I was not taking 28 pills a day then to stay alive. No need to run to the chemist. Enjoy your sun. It is as usual in winter here overcast.
