Today I’m posting one of the most famous pieces of music ever written for the flamenco guitar. It is of course called Malagueña and is the sixth movement from Cuban composer Ernesto Lecuona’s 1933 composition “Suite Andalusia”. I’ve chosen this performance by American classical guitarist Michael Lucarelli who has chosen Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah as his concert venue!
I liked this song because it is quite rhythmic. While listening to it, I wanted to dance because the melody is perfect for dancing. I've been playing guitar for a long time, and I know it takes a long time to learn how to play this song. But I will still try to learn that tune to play it at parties with friends. Also, I recently bought a new plectrum that I bought here [ironageaccessories.com]. It's pretty handy, so I'll get used to it in no time.
Interesting that you chose to comment on something I posted three years ago…in 2019, when I post daily in this group…but never mind I see you’re new to the site and therefore the group too…so welcome!
Love this one!
Brilliant musician.
@Marionville Oh yes.
Excellent! I never saw guitar strings quiver like that before Will have to watch that again
Yes...there’s a technical reason why, it was too difficult for me to interpret...but it’s something to do with the speed of the camera and the atmospherics.
@Marionville : Oh! It looked like the strings were not very tight. Thanks for the explanation, Marje.
