Never a group of guys to shy away from controversial topics such as environmental and humanitarian issues…the band a-ha went to Cuba in 2002 to film this video to promote their song Forever Not Yours. It depicts an end of the world scenario due to climate change and parodies the biblical flood and ark stories, taking a swipe too at world leaders and the rich and greedy as the ones escaping with their plunder into the Ark..whilst taking a sideswipe at fame by highlighting its transience at the band’s own expense!

They were and still are so forward thinking! I love that they don’t shy away from difficult subjects with their music!

No…they’re amazing, I just wish more people would realise it!

@Marionville I think if people would listen to the lyrics more in their songs they would see just how wonderful their music truly is!!

@Redheadedgammy I think the majority of people only really listen to music by artists they know well and familiar songs…even by well known singers and bands.

@Marionville Very true Marje. Most just go for the beat and sound and are attracted to music they already like, but don’t really listen to the lyrics of new music.

@Marionville Mostly I never really listen to lyrics until I painstakingly take them down off a CD or tape or record because I like the tune enough to want to sing the song.

@rogerbenham Most songs are pretty mundane lyrically speaking…but some are actually very poetic and pertinent…and worth paying attention to. It depends entirely on what the listener wants from a song.

@Marionville I think I listen to harmonies and how it feels to me.
