On Remembrance Sunday…I’m posting this music by Edward Elgar for two reasons…firstly I have always associated it with this day because it’s usually the first piece of music played by the massed military bands at London’s Cenotaph in Whitehall prior the UKs national wreath laying ceremony…and secondly it was my husband’s favourite piece of music and was played 12 years ago at his funeral on 10th November 2010. Nimrod - from Enigma Variations, performed by London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult.
