Lang sing it for him….it was the definitive version, and could never be matched…and I’m with Mr Cohen in that opinion! Here k.d. sings it live at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics…and then again live at the Logies in Australia….breathtakingly good!

“The best ever is subjective of course” Very subjective! Her promoter's expressed opinion. I agree the KDLang version is very good and definitely different from all other versions that have heard. But I'll stick to Cohen.
@rogerbenham I’ll go with Cohen’s judgement that k.d. Lang couldn’t be bettered in her rendition of this song, He never claimed to be a great singer…he knew he wasn’t. What he was was, like Dylan, was a great story teller and wordsmith…
@Marionville Agreed. But I grew so accustomed to his voice. K D Lang is very dramatic.
