The Uighurs (also spelled Uyghurs) are a group of people of Turkic ethnicity, historically nomadic herders, geographically they originate from a wide region in Central Europe & Asia. The Uigars, who are Muslim, have been in the news over recent years because of their oppression in China where they are one of China’s 55 recognised ethnic minorities. I’m posting a Uighur traditional folksong and dance…Mitiz Meshrep.

It’s called a Tembor…it’s a long-necked lute.
@Marionville That's the longest-necked instrument I've ever seen! (The mind REELS.....) 
Beautiful dance costumes, and those instruments were so cool! I really liked this one Marje. When I opened it in YouTube it showed more music by the Uyghur's. Very talented people!!
