Today it’s Mother’s Day…or Mothering Sunday, in the UK & Ireland…and I’m very lucky to have my son Neil with me on a weekend visit - the best gift of all as far as I’m concerned. I’ve got gifts, flowers and a lovely dinner out last night too, but it’s his presence that’s the best present! So to celebrate all mothers and motherhood everywhere in the world I’ve chosen this song from the international classical quartet - Il Divo - Mama.
….RIP Carlos Marin, who died of Covid in December 2021.

I was just 19 when I organised playing the last chorale of the St John passion (JSB) in our parish church for the funeral of my mother.
