…Zydeco music combines blues, rhythm & blues and indigenous music of Louisiana Creoles and Native Americans of the region. It is a separate genre from Cajun music although the two forms influenced each other.

It boils down to Cajun is based in southwest Louisiana (Acaidiana) and New Orleans is the home of Creole culture. So country verses city.
