Very popular for a long time.
I was fortunate enough to do some work a few days ago with a delightful young Italian girl. I tried to find common ground with her bringing up the Italian singers I know but it seems I'm just hopelessly old and out of touch. It seems this young man is all the rage at the moment:

Yes he’s one of the current batch of pop singers in Italy making a name for himself. Each generation produces its own favourites...nothing new there.
