as @Spinliesel also posted earlier, Joseph Shambalala, leader of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, has passed away at the age of 78. He stepped down in 2014, but 4 of his sons are members of the group ... I saw them live many years ago in Oregon, and wondered whether the group still actively tours, and wow ... there are 4 performances in California during the next week, one of which less than a hundred miles away. Unfortunately for me I no longer drive into the frantic traffic of the San Francisco area

Here is the group with Paul Simon in 2012 during the Graceland Reunion tour and it is so lovely to observe the genuine affection and respect which these two greats show each other

I saw them a number of years ago too when they toured the UK. Sad to hear of his death today, but happy to hear the group is still going strong and still touring. Too bad you won’t be able to get to see them when they’re going to be fairly close to you. This is a great collaboration with Paul Simon.
