Once when I was going through a hard time, I told a friend (we were in an adult Sunday School class) that I felt crummy and God wasn't helping me - and her answer was, Jesus suffered the greatest pain of all while he was dying for my sins. Yeah I used to work with a lady that told me all I needed to be happy was Jesus. Like no, Jesus isn't going to help me any more than Santa or the freaking Toothfairy because he doesn't exist.
