I find myself smoking more since they dropped my pain meds down. I seem to be using it as a distraction from the pain. The lesser of two evils?? What do you do besides smoke, or anything else destructive that approaches you daily?

I have been in a twelve-step program for about 4 months, but am just now trying to actively work the steps. Working Step One was really helpful to me, but I am so stuck on Step Two and the higher power crap. Any advice?

Hello all! I'm an alcoholic/addict. I haven't had a drink in 1 week. I haven't used in one day. Right now it's minute by minute. I'm disabled so it's not affecting my job, though it has in the past. I can't sleep. Maybe I'll just go put on a movie..
