In my writing, I have someone recounting events for a scene that i didn't want to detail. (boring court scene) But, as I'm writing, I'm thinking, wait.... this person got kicked out the courtroom for contempt. ... I have to rewrite either one or the other. ha!
@Lillyfield41 better you catch the gaffe than a copy editor
@Lillyfield41 a friend of mine wrote a scene where a car crashed and was totaled, and then the character was speeding through the streets in said car three scenes later. Common enough; the deeper I get into my own writing the more I lose track of little details.
