Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.As usual. the UK is following the US in establishing a neo-feudalist state, where zero-hour contracts condemn many blue-collar workers to a lifetime of penury. The middle classes, meanwhile, find themselves being taxed to a level that brings the salaries of those at the lower end to a level comparable with skilled blue-collar workers, which disencentivises productivity and the seeking of professional skills and qualifications, when salaries offer such low returns.
Globalisation has seen work farmed off to the country offering the cheapest labour, owing to a lower standard of living. Paradoxically, the influx of work sees their standard of living rise, whilst the UK/US see theirs decrease, correspondingly.
The governments do not/cannot recognise that this economic destabilisation is a threat to national security, something which China, for example is quite happy and quick to exploit. No doubt, other countries have followed suit, too.
Copying the US example, the UK has increased its prison population, providing a forced labour market earning as little as 50p (80 cents). Upon release, former prisoners are discriminated against, and can often only find work in the lowest of paid jobs, with the least job security.
This return to feudalism has been a great coincidence for the rich and the powerful, who probably would not have had the intelligence to have thought of such a plan themselves, but it has now positioned the majority of the population in a financial situation that makes them easier to control.
The only thing that they fear is revolution, which is why they have proceeded to militarise the police, to act as a private army, to enforce their diktats. In line with other world dictatorships, telephone calls and emails are scrutinised by intelligence organisations, to further ease the clampdown on dissent.
It is precisely because it cannot be monitored, and controlled, that governments fear the spontaneous demonstration, or riot, especially as no-one can predict how they will turn out.
