At one time I really hoped for a revolution. Then I saw what happened to Egypt under a revolution, and, well, it wasn't encouraging. I am not the greatest history student, so help me out here. I'm racking my brain trying to recall a revolution in recent history that didn't turn into a giant clusterfuck?

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Not all revolutions are completely violent, but to have it not be violent then we need some insiders to make progress, and that seems very unlikely. Maybe the best case scenario is for the tyrants to placate the masses again like FDR. I'm not an advocate of that type of lesser two evils thinking though.

@altschmerz I'm not sure what he would say about that. The idea could be quite subjective, couldn't it? Just like the saying, "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." It all depends on perspective.
Before any revolution will take place we have to unite the liberals with the socialist and all those between. This aspect of our society makes up the largest voting block that relatively can agree on the basic laws of society towards installing any real sense of a true democracy. That's approximately 3/4 of the voting population. This will either force the government to revert to another type of new deal like FDR's time, or force the ruling class to impose their power over government as they'll want to refuse to relinquish parts of their fortunes. I assure you either way will not be pretty. They may allow an economic collapse happen in a first measure to attempt to quell the movement, which we may already be witnessing now. Last resort would be military in the streets.

What a good article. The question really is how a revolution will play out. Can it be guided so as not to involve militias fighting or home guard or military assaulting populace. I think that that is what is desperately needed.
