The Revolutionary Struggle Is A Fight Between Movement And Inertia
There’s a feud on the American political left right now which (as usual) breaks down more or less along the lines of center-left “Bernie in the primary, Clinton/Biden in the general” progressives angrily opposing a push towards meaningful change from those further to the left.
{The entire revolutionary struggle, ultimately, is a battle between movement and inertia. Wherever you’ve got a political status quo that needs changing you’ll find revolutionary-minded forces pushing toward change and guardians of the status quo making clever-sounding arguments for why the smart strategy is to remain motionless. When the status quo is destructive and unsustainable, as this one unquestionably is, the ones pushing for movement are always on the correct side of the debate.}
That correlates with a message in which 2 in this group have been attempting to draw attention to towards another poster here. If you're advocating for progressive measures, claiming to vote for progressives, while continually supporting the status quo, are you not displaying 2 different persona's? Quite frankly it's ludicrous to claim you vote for progressives when the only political representation you were offered are at best right leaning democrats adherent to neoliberal ruling class corporate policies with perpetual war agendas, cold or hot. In which the 2 continuously received the same type of responses as bellow.
{They’ll point out that it might not succeed, as though you only get a finite amount of movements you’re allowed to make. They’ll act like any potential flaw is grounds for remaining inert, as though needing any every movement to be flawless is a standard we apply anywhere else in our lives. They’ll act like any move you make in a given direction will necessarily be the trajectory you will remain on forever, pretending you can’t simply course-correct as needed once you’re in motion.}
As though only the status quo can manage any sense of negotiable means of positive change, as though our ideologies can only go one direction towards harm within a lack of diplomacy. While this person misses the fact that those being supported are blocking his spoken policies he supports. So then, who genuinely lacks the means of diplomacy when these policies never find their way to a congressional floor? Which there is a long history of while the 2 are being denied even a chance to exist within the corrupt system he supports. Also in that history.....
{We are stuck. Stuck in the Doldrums. Stuck in a power-serving holding pattern that is driving us toward death and dystopia.}
{The illusion that safety lies in inertia is due to a glitch in human perception called status quo bias, which causes people’s default assumption to be that keeping things the same is less risky than change even when that is plainly not the case.}
This is a result of how our information is purposely delivered to us, creating a delusional reality. Capturing perceptions and sending them into an empty void where challenging dissenting sources and solutions are purposely suppressed from public awareness. And even when those genuine entities manage to scratch and claw into the void to those victims in the void, that have been conditioned to follow the manufactured propaganda within the void, many still cling onto a sense of cognitive dissonance, give power to stuck.
{Until we actually let go of our attachment to the status quo and take the leap into the unknown, trusting in our ability to course-correct as needed once we are in motion, we’re just killing time in the Doldrums, waiting for the end of the world.}
