Obsession with race and gender is a cornerstone of contemporary bourgeois politics. The Democratic Party could not live a day without it. The advocates of identity politics, to the direct benefit of a besieged and wealthy ruling elite, view and distort every social question, from police violence to COVID-19 vaccination, through the lens (or fun-house mirror) of personal identity to obscure the real social processes behind power, privilege and property.

It shows how if the 99% would quit being divided over cultural issues and identity politics, we could throw out all the bribed pols and successfully throw the ruling class out of power, even with the cops and military on their side, simply with our overwhelming numbers. But it will never happen, as the media is too good at manipulating the divide and conquer and even if we voted out the duopoly, most of the 99% would be too selfish and chickenshit to get out in the streets and force the cops and military to stay out of the way.

Perfectly stated. I however hold a sense of hope as we see growing numbers of people waking up and younger generations continuing too see through the façade looking towards socialism as a way out. I would emphasis the collaboration you mention on the medias part by pointing out how they are directed by public relation firms for the benefit of the ruling class, educating the population on this constructed delusional agenda. A means to reduce the current fallacies of various groups that manage to capture these people who basically trap them in the very democratic party and turn them towards a sincere movement moving away.
