Why the British Abandoned Impeachment

Pretty much a mirrored structure of our 2 floors of congress. Our senators were placed by state representatives up until 1913. This was basically a means to protect their properties and wealth in the beginning. I'll argue that by this time they had managed to deceptively control elections for the most part and felt safe enough to go by vote. As the robber barron's who come to own the new political class had accomplished transforming the wealth of the American frontier into vast financial empires, amassing their fortunes by monopolizing essential industries. We know what that lead to. The next one is on our heels.
With the theatrical spectrum impeachment offers to our charade of governance, I have doubts it will be abolished. It provides an overwhelming benefit towards political tribalism buried deep into the citizenry. These periods in time are drastically different. To abolish impeachment now would potentially be an admittance to governing failure which is clearly of signal today. Especially as 2020 has come and gone.
