Armed right-wing militias have been systematically detaining asylum-seekers at gunpoint along the US-Mexico border in operations that are apparently coordinated with the federal Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agency.
What's next? Right wing paramilitary militias patrolling Muslim neighborhoods in our areas? All we need is another false flag event to activate such a measure? Another manufactured war with Iran or Venezuela?

We have an immigration policy and laws on the books stating it is perfectly legal - yeah, I know I am preaching to the choir - just let me fuckin' rant here, for people to present themselves at the border and request asylum. It is LEGAL and then even if they cross illegally it is only a misdemeanor!! Finally our meddling in many of these countries has contributed to the unrest and crime. THEN!!! then the admin says they will with hold aid!!! WTF?!?
The solution IMHO would be to help these S. American countries fight the gangs and crime, provide safe places within their country for people who need protection - with all the resources required to help them once they arrive here we could do some real good by helping them before they feel the need to flee. I'm not against immigrants but would any of us want to flee our country? Wouldn't we want help to make it a safe place?
I realize I sort of ignored the idea of how do we fix stupid right here in our own backyard. Civics classes might help.
