Take for instance this:
“We don’t invade poor countries to make them rich.We don’t invade authoritarian countries to make them democratic. We invade violent countries to make them peaceful and we clearly failed in Afghanistan.” — James Dobbins, former U.S. diplomat
If that was anything else but propaganda he would have said we invaded other countries to boost our economy and prop up corporations and capitalism. We invade countries for their resources and/or geopolitical value.
This information will all be superficial bullshit.
And who the hell are they fooling with the opium crap that the U.S. tried to stop production? The Taliban had very little opium production going on. When the U.S. and then NATO took over, the production of opium went through the roof. It's naive to think the U.S. didn't have control of that. The Taliban actually had an opium eradication program in 2000. After the Taliban was blown to bits the production went up.

I'll go propaganda to the point of distraction. Which another post on this issue was made clear on that and the timing. In which it was claimed the timing was a result to rush this out as the impeachment hearings were kicking in to smear Trump. I made the statement in that post about it (paraphrasing) falling back onto 2 prior administrations also as mere collateral damage that would be easily soluble in time. Basically I was using WAPO's own discovery against them knowing they aren't a source to be trusted. And most likely have a hidden agenda. Showing truth while also creating a conditioning narrative.
So what is the agenda of the propaganda you see in this then if you don't think the Afghanistan war has been a total waste and lie? You haven't seen this information slowly coming out about Afghanistan over the past 18 years that alternative journalist have been bringing light to?
I agree it will become superficial as stated above and the other post, as I stated in other words. The WAPO is relying on a population with a short attention span and will go back to business as usual immediately. But at least we have a more precise record of the truth to use. We just need to decipher the agenda from an questionable source.
@William_Mary Oh no, I think the Afghanistan war was a waste and a lie 100%. I never thought it was legit. Hardly any wars seem to be legit for what they claim them to be fought for. I thought you knew me better than that from my postings on here lol. It's over with now for the most part and the people who perpetrated the ruse will have nothing done to them. They point out so much, but in a way whitewash it all. They put out a little truth to cover up the bigger picture and this will be over and done with before the new year. The organization that "uncovered" this is a government organization and the leader was appointed by Obama (the guy who was drone and bomb happy among other things). Right there it's a red flag. The report, from at least what I have read, gives a little truth and inserts establishment narrative that benefits them. Nothing in it will be devastating to change of anything in the system. It's like they get the public to trust the government and 2 party system for they themselves "exposing" this.
