My sons in law tell me they think it tastes like soap and don't eat it. It is a genetic things. My kids like it as I do. So when they're coming to dinner I don' t make anything with cilantro in it. And as that only happens every couple of months, I'm free to enjoy it most of the time.

I have the same problem with it tasting like soap as well. Don't understand that it happens to a lot of people I know.

I love cilantro, grow it, and use it frequently.

I love cilantro !!

Extremely important ingredient in a fresh salsa 🙂 love it.

Love cilantro but maybe living in the Southwest for 40 years has something to do with my appreciation. I'm missing Mexican food here in Florida.

This is good to know. To some people it tastes like soap but not to me. It actually grows in our area during the winter.

Yes it does taste like soap to me.

@Sheannutt A recent program showed this was in one's genetic make-up and one carries it for their life. For me it tastes like 'Cilantro'.

@JackPedigo I wish I could taste cilantro, I know it's very good for you, it just tastes like soap. Thanks for the information I did not know that.

I wonder what the mechanism of action is. What about cilantro binds to heavy metals so the kidneys can process them more easily?
