‪It’s apparently #NationalFriedChickenDay! my #VeganCalculator calculates that I have saved the lives of 1000 animals, haven’t gone hungry yet! [thevegancalculator.com]‬ ... The calculation could be off slightly because I put two years and nine months but I’ve only been vegan for nine months… The other two years were vegetarian so I decided to count it :-

The chickens are mostly 3 month old cockerals, & hens no longer laying eggs.
The roosters are very difficult to manage. The hens can also be very intolerant to subserviant hens. So what to do. Yes. Don't eat chicken, but people will, So now what. Kill & house them humanely. That is all I ask.

Thanks for this. It is very interesting. There is one thing I disagree with though. If weren't used for food they would not have been born. This means the number of lives saved have not really been saved. The important parts for me are the water, grain, forest and CO2 saved. For example: if one has been a vegan for 5 years one would have saved over 2 million gallons of water which could be used for more important things.
Here is a good one for this group; ever tried Seitan (pronounced satan) [thespruceeats.com] Before I discovered I had a gluten sensitivity this one was my favorite. It is so much like meat (can be made like dark or light meats) my late partner would have nothing to do with it.

I thought it was interesting as well but it’s acuracy is most certainly flawed. What you say seems logical to me. I became vegan for health reasons but appreciate all the reasons more and more.

Seiten is somthing I tried to make once and it did not turn out well.... I will defiantly try again, thank you.

@ArdentAtheist I used to make it all the time. The secret is in the liquids. A heavy, red-wine based cooking liquid makes for a 'beefy' product and a lighter, white-wine liquid makes for a 'poultry' product.

I bet Chick Fil A are involved in this somewhere along the line.

You do know this organization is a Christian based one?

@JackPedigo

Yes.
