See the solar drying section in this link if it's a good summer it will save on oven costs 
(Basically if you can make a perspex box around a frame of shelves, (I'd use netting to allow maximum air exposure) you can dry them without insects getting into them in a sunny spot. A panel of netting on one side of the box will let the moisture out.)
