Doctors , lawyers, business owners , engineers and technology workers Everyone one else is living hand to mouth. Paycheck to paycheck. When we had blue collar workers and unions instead of 10 to 15 % it was 50 to 60% made a recent living. Now we are racing and fighting over the scraps. What a shitty country.

So I'm a member of a secular humanist organization called the Houston Oasis.
Matias comments on Jun 6, 2018:
What are you doing in your humanist Oasis? Sitting together, drinking beer and discussing all kinds of topics? In this case all circles where friends gather to have a good time qualify as "a secular humanist organization". We in Germany have an institution called "Stammtisch" ("regular table"): ...

You have a lot of filters. You eliminated a lot of people. I am married and 61 and not looking to date... but its not dissimilar from making friends. @MissKathleen , she broke her shoulder in February. The bone mended in March, but she had surgery last week to reattach tendons and muscles. She is just at 25% of use on her left arm. I didnt intend to be mean, just to share the reality of live in the late 50, 60 and 70's . Its perfectly ok for all the super healty to self select each other, they just need to recognize that the pool of people will be much smaller. I have a social circle of about 25 friends, mostly couples all in age from 50-70. Of the 25, only two are very healthy with no medical issues, one man and one woman not married to each other. Of my 25 friends 50% plus are conservative and republican.... that is for me to manage, but we find the positive. My broken arm wife is a gfellow free thinker though. Sorry I rambled, againg isnt pretty, none of us are as attarctive as we were before. For me I have to still try to find things I like about people or I would be very lonely.

My husband asked for a divorce after 25 years. He also didn't want to deal with my chronic illness. Said he didn't sign on for that. Same thing about counseling. It was a no. In time found out he had begun a relationship with a coworker. Nothing about the divorce was easy and I basically lost ...

@LiterateHiker we still have all my daughters American girl doll collection. The rocking chair we used to feed her and the little baby rocker she used to watch cartoons. We also have every child book we read to her. She is expecting this new years eve. So maybe some new traditions will be born.
