His mom stopped him and they talked a bit more about his announcement. He had lots of support from both parents, and is doing well in college now.

Some mysteries to be found in the sweet potato! [blog.helix.com]
Looking4-Others comments on Nov 26, 2018:
I think I may get sold on the sweet potato as opposed to the other stuff I have been eating throughout life. I know of Vegan Bodybuilders swear by them. I actually enjoy potatoes more and those sweet potatoes may convince me to think about having them more often than on the holidays only. Thanks for...
Haemish1 replies on Nov 27, 2018:
The traditional potatoes we eat are members of the nightshade family, sweet potatoes are from the morning glory family. Some people find that nightshade plants cause an inflammatory response.

Does age really matter in a relationship?
LadyAlyxandrea comments on Nov 26, 2018:
For me yes. I am uncomfortable dating anyone more than 8-10 years older than me, or over 4 years younger. For me it's just a preference, and it just always seems like theres a generational disconnect on some level.
Haemish1 replies on Nov 26, 2018:
@LadyAlyxandrea Sixteen will get you twenty!

She would look very sexy without the tattoos, especially the crappy arm tattoos...
Haemish1 replies on Nov 24, 2018:
I think the ones on her right arm are just in the initial stages. I’m not a huge fan of tattoos, but I think it kinda works with her.

@Ignostic_Skeptic My daughter is going to school in Poughkeepsie - she laughs at all the kids that get in a panic when it gets below 30 and a couple inches of snow is in the forecast. Of course they probably don’t get lake effect snow like you do. Out here it can be done snowing and we’ll still be having ground blizzards 4 or five days later:/

Haemish1 replies on Nov 21, 2018:
@MojoDave It’s a great read. Collapse by Jarrod Diamond is a good read too, but not quite as entertaining in my opinion.

Haemish1 replies on Nov 21, 2018:
@Cutiebeauty Hmm - I’ll be working pretty much all of that time - hadn’t even considered that? My daughter will be home from school during that time so I’ll get to see her for the first time in four months - so I’ll look forward to that.

Haemish1 replies on Nov 20, 2018:
I have no idea who all the characters are, but I think it’s a lot more fun than the traditional nativity scene - shouldn’t Bill and Ted (the Wild Stallions) be playing for everyone’s birthday?
I've been raking my yard. So I don't have...you know....a forest fire.
brentan comments on Nov 19, 2018:
I read some time ago that forest land needs to have fires to burn off the topsoil so not to die. I have no idea if this is true or not but if it is, that might mean that fires need to be managed, not stopped.
Haemish1 replies on Nov 19, 2018:
Fire is a natural part of the western ecosystem. We’ve made things difficult here by over harvesting trees in some places, actively doing every thing we can to eliminate fires in other places and now we have sizable populations living in fire prone areas. Mature trees have evolved to be fire resistant from smaller fires. Now we have an abundance of fuels from drought the creates the intense fires we get now.
