Freedom carries a price.
We are free because brave people sacrificed their personal dreams and goals to fight an evil empire.
Never forget.

I hear this all the time about a soldiers sacrifice for our freedoms. I think this is a bit disingenuous. As US citizens we have never been anywhere near to losing freedom. All our wars were fought other places and for other reasons, soldiers do the bidding of the government and not the people.

Wow. That's ignorant. I guess you never heard of Pearl Harbor either. So, then, you think the USA shouldn't have involved ourselves in taking out the Third Reich and Hitler? What an odd position....I mean, unless you support genocide....yeah...that was a real shame when the Allied forces liberated the Concentration Camps.... ((sarcasm in case you missed that too)). Do you even know what happened on DDay? ((you might also want to look up the following: the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Mexican-American and French and Indian War. Also, research the Battle of the Aleutian Islands.))

I still don't see how the freedom of Americans was at stake.I respect our soldiers and don't support genocide.

I don't have words suitable enough to show my gratitude for their sacrifice! Thanks for making this post!

We indeed have enemies foreign and domestic. Some of them are within out government and even occupy the White House.

It might come to that again on our own soil. The south will never believe they can be defeated again.

I wish I felt the same about today's government and US military (or at least how it's used).
