Was attempting to change the screen in an ASUS zenfone 3. I was following the instruction off of youtube when I got to the battery removal part. I had done everything the instructions demonstrated. As I began to pry the battery out. I witnessed a spark then the battery burst into white-hot flames. This is a photo of the aftermath. I have changed many components on many different devices. To boot I have built 14 computers from the CPU on up this is the first time I have had something burst into flames when I was working on it.

I will NEVER EVER buy a smartphone with a non removable battery.

Whoa! A few months ago I had to have the battery in my Samsung GS7 replaced due to it pillowing. The repair guy said that it could have exploded at any moment.

I've never had that happen!

Reminds me of the exploding Samsung cell phones.
