Movies with great opening scenes, we all have a favourite or two, this is one of mine, what is yours?
If I am not mistaken... been many years but isn't it the soiled condom being returned when checking out of jail previously on the scene?
With some movies you just know it's only going to get bloodier from then on out.
How about Blackboard Jungle with music "Rock Around the Clock" ?
Glenn Ford and Sidney Poitier, they don't make them like that anymore.
Yes ...that was a great movie. @Surfpirate
I like a movie that starts with the beginning of the end, then cuts to the telling of the story and you forget of that initial scene until the loop is completed. 2 classics: "Sunset Blvd", the body of a man floating on the pool starts to tell story how he got there. "The Usual Suspects" except you will never know if anything at the initial scene really happened like that since is a web of lies but the last scene that practically tells you everything you know and learned well... you shouldn't trust the source and check this out, watch me walk. I enjoyed the eye candy (flashdance) more than the testosterone booster (top gun).
This very early scene is so gut wrenching. Not a favorite in a feel good kind of way, but one of the most powerful pieces of cinema I ever saw.
SNAFU - when will we learn to send in the generals first instead of the privates? There would be a lot fewer wars if the generals and politicians lead from the front instead of the rear.
If you don't love America then get the hell out...
