Due to the recent celebrity suicides, mental health is being discussed a lot. Conservatives who make it harder for Americans to receive health care are part of this growing problem. As an attempted suicide survivor, I can tell you that the struggle is very real.
My father died when I was 4 and my entire life I was told that GOD took him because HE needed him more than me. So, when I was 14 and in a very bad place in my life, I decided that I wanted to be with my father in Heaven much more than I did with the rest of my family. The concept of "Sin" wasn't really in my vernacular, so I didn't understand that part at the time. I just knew I was miserable.
Religion is such an evil tool. It can be used to cherry pick the things you want and twisted into anything by anyone. I truly hate it.

I know my mental state has improved since , I did away with religion. Religion hurts more people than it helps. That is one of the reasons the suicide rate is going up. Which is truly sad for everyone.

This is something I can really relate to. I was diagnosed with schitzo-affective dissorder years ago.It is essentially I see and hear things that are not there. I have major bouts of depression, suicidal thoughts, lack of sleep, etc. At the time I couldn't afford any kind of health care. But after a while with some help I did end up getting dissability, which also gave me medicare, and medicaid so I've since then been able to get therapy, and medication. I really feel for those that don't have that kind of help. I was there too , and it sucks. I honestly believe that every one should get the kind of health care that they need.

Golly...I agree that the republicOn agenda is killing people. I have had quite a bit of suicide in my family. Also, several good friends have chosen that path to exit. I am back in school to become a grief counselor. I hope so very much to be able to assist folks because grief cannot be gotten through alone.

I'm sorry for what you have went through. I have a question. Why are you blaming Conservatives for making obtaining healthcare difficult?

Republicans have tried to kill the Affordable Care Act since it's inception. They have supported deregulation that allows healthcare companies to do less for more profit. They have supported big pharma through deregulation which makes it more difficult for people to pay for their meds. Most conservatives support big business which doesn't want to pay for benefits. They rather cut costs and want to get away with as little as possible for their employees.

Duh, without conservatives we would have universal healthcare by now.

@jorj Obama screwed a whole slew of blue collar workers out of healthcare. My entire family lost their healthcare because they couldn't afford it. Myself included.
