Your favorite horror movie star. Mine has been Vincent Price ever since I first saw him in "House on Haunted Hill." I met him in person in 1980 when he was touring the US in his one-man stage play, Diversions & Delights, as Oscar Wilde. A most elegant and friendly person.
I LOVE Vincent Price! He was my mom's favorite horror film star, so I saw him in lots when I was a kid. First, on our black-and-white tv, and then after we got a color tv.
Mom took all four of her children to see "The Abominable Dr. Phibes" at one of our local drive-in theaters. I forget what else was playing. I'm so glad she took us.
His voiceovers were great; I'm glad he was chosen to do the voiceover for "Thriller" by Michael Jackson.
I'm sorry I missed that one-man stage play. He had a wonderful sense of humor about himself, too.
Oh, he was wonderful in his one-man show. I attended a reception for him afterwards. He towered over everyone, had to be at least 6'4". One woman asked if she could have a kiss and he said "My pleasure." Pretty soon a line formed behind her of women asking to kiss him. It was funny, and I don't think Mr. Price minded at all. Unfortunitly he was quite a chain smoker, which I imagine contributed to his death from lung cancer.
How awesome! I met his daughter at a horror convention. She was selling her book, of course. Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Christopher Lee, I suppose would all tie for first place with me.
Great choice.
And a great actor in several venues.
