I think it is the strangest person who spends hours answering questions in such a way as to attempt to fool others about who they really are.

I think it would be very difficult to maintain the consistency of the traits ascribed to over time. The profile matching would not work.

So, if they have only answered 20 questions, and their profile is stupidly shallow, they are not worth more time.

OKCupid: I am a 90+% match with people who have answered fewer than 30 questions. This make no sense to me.

But, the more questions i answer, the more i learn about me.

In reality most people misrepresent themselves in online forums. If you look at my profile it says I am married, but open to hook-ups because I'm in a loveless, passionless swamp of a marriage and have a 14year old daughter I adore. I will be with her mother until she is old enough to take care of herself, but I do have needs and I am honest about everything with anyone I talk to. You wouldn't believe the amount of negative and critical messages I get from people for being honest. I imagine that this is the reason many people lie...they want to be perfect(or seem perfect) to prospective mates and know that complete honesty is a rare thing that will cause them to be overlooked or sharply criticized.

I don't meet dating prospects until I've had chance to google them. No point in meeting some criminal or a married man.

I was on Match and eHarmony. When I meet someone, there would be a long process of messaging, emailing, text, then phone before a date is set. Most of the time, everyone was genuine. It's the ones who want to skip communication and go straight to the date that I question.
